The South Thomaston Public Library is staffed entirely by volunteers from the community, a group ably led by our Director, Tina Branco.
Tina has a MLS from Catholic University, and several years of experience leading a volunteer team. In addition, she has spent lots of time monitoring a computer database.
Besides keeping the collection up-to-date by selecting, purchasing, and processing all types of media, they also maintain the computer networks, including the automated catalog. By attending periodic training made available by the Maine State Library system, they endeavor to meet the information needs of citizens of the area.
On Mondays, they provide an adventure in reading, along with arts and crafts projects for up to 25 pre-schoolers, while moms have a chance to choose grown-up materials from the shelves.
If you are interested in joining this fun group, please stop by the library and leave your name and phone number.
